Dave Whinham

Concert Promoter

June 6, 2017

Dave Whinham is a jack of many successful ventures.  A college coach in his early days of his career, tutoring a young Urban Meyers while at the University of Cincinnati.  His love of football brought him to Columbus to be the head coach of the city’s arena football, and eventually to the General Manager (where he hired Earl Bruce as his replacement). When the team relocated in Buffalo, New York opted to stay in Columbus and raise his family.  He became a successful concert promoter, branched into making documentaries including one on the life of Bruce and another on the history of the song “Hang on Sloopy” for which he won an Emmy award.  He even created his own radio program aired weekly on select stations.  But you will likely notice is what a nice guy he is. Enjoy!!
